Hiya, my name is Donna and I am a graphic designer based in Sydney, Australia. I really enjoy mixing my creativity with my geekier computer loving side and indulging the writer in me too. I currently work fulltime as an inhouse designer in a small marketing department for a public transport company and also run my own part-time design business (donnafrithdesign) which I launched in March 2010. Because I love a challenge, in early 2011 I will be doing a three month volunteer internship for an NGO in Bangalore, India through the Youth Challenge Australia program. I started this blog to share my experiences in these different areas with those who may be interested – I hope you’re one of them!
GETTING PERSONAL
I studied at Shillington College of Design in 2007, and graduated with a BA (Communication) from Newcastle University in 2002 having studied Public Relations, Writing, Digital Media and Film Production. As well as a career in design I also have experience from marketing and event management roles.
I’m a free spirit who cares about what’s going on in the world and think even small actions can make a difference. I am inspired by people who give it their all to make change and contribute positively. I’m green concious and think it’s worth the effort to try and live sustainably. I love running with a new idea and getting carried away with it and enjoy the buzz of connecting with new people. I embrace random acts of kindness. I adore chocolate and baked products – both the baking and the eating :)
When I’m not in front of a computer I’m hopefully either soaking up some cafe culture, eating with friends, meandering around a festival or market, soaking up the sun at a picnic or reading in the park, baking with my housemates, having an inspiring conversation, making the most of the glorious Aussie eight month summer by snorkeling, boogie-boarding or camping, or making a creative mess. If I’m not doing any of that then I’m probably travelling, which I need lots of, off-the-beaten-path and everywhere else. So far I have been to the USA, Cananda, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Bali, Lombok, Fiji and Samoa. India is next, with many more to follow!
